When the newborns arrive in your life they tend to change so many things in your life since they need more attention. Proper care and up bringing for a baby should be given to the baby in terms of health, feeding, clothing and safety.

Feeding is an important requirement for the health of a baby and the mother should ensure this id done correctly. Feeding determine the future of the baby’s health since when they have just been born they have a weak immune system. The first meal that is introduced to the baby is breastfeeding. Breast milk is the best food for the baby for the first six months. Breastfeeding should be done exclusively for the first six months unless in other circumstances like the death of the mother, sickness and under the doctors instruction.

Breastfeeding is important since it reduces the chances of the baby developing health conditions like diarrhea and other infections. Breast milk is rich in antibodies especially colostrum, the fist milk that comes in yellow color. Breastfeeding helps the mother bond with her baby and this is important since it makes it easy for a mother to detect when the baby is not well. The mother can monitor the daily developments of the baby and tell whether the baby is okay. The baby should be breastfed as many times as it wants.

Bottle feeding can be introduced to the baby especially in case the mother is working or is not able to breastfeed frequently as required. You should try different types of nipples and boiling them to sterilize them. After the sixth month, soft solid food can be introduced to the baby a process called weaning. However this does not mean you should completely stop the breastfeeding. Foods like rice cereal, other grains like oats, fruits and vegetables can be given to the baby at the start of weaning.
